CONSTRUCTION OF A WOVEN OBJECT

Investigation of how to fabricate a 3-dimensional sculptural object directly in one process on an analogue weaving loom.
To explore how to weave a standing structure.

Through an examination of the double-weaving technique unfolds the study of how objects can be created directly on the loom. The technique is based on two separate layers of horizontal threads in copper installed on the loom. By weaving one meter longer in the top layer and then weave it together with the bottom layer a long flotation is created. This is repeated three times and forms the objects body. When the weaving is taken off the loom, the object is unfolded.
Thus, in one coherent procedure surface and shape is created.

An exploration of the interaction between loom, technique, material and weaver.
